Aerobics Class Descriptions

Yoga
Yoga classes are a combination of Hatha and Iyengar Yoga. Both are a gentle and nurturing practice of yoga which encourages you to listen to your body and go at your own pace. The classes focus on breathing, strengthening and relaxation.

Spin
It is the ultimate indoor cycling program...not for bikers only. Come in and experience the best in a mind-body workout. The class is geared to all fitness levels. Offered November through May.

Spin Fit
Thirty minutes on the Spin bike and 30 minutes in the Group Exercise Room with weights. This is the best combination workout of cardio and weights in one hour.

Zumba
A latin influenced dance/fitness class. Every fitness level can join this class. Dance background is not required - everyone can shake and move.

Strength
This is a full body strengthening and stretch workout. You will have the option of using hand weights, bands, benches and balls. A full hour class is offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Afternoon classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4:15 p.m. The Monday/Wednesday class is a 45-minute class. The Friday afternoon class is a full hour.

Core Express
Half hour abdominal class focusing on the core of the body from the shoulders to the hip area (lower back included) to give you a balanced mid-section workout.

Double Diamond Fitness
Get ready for a push. Class uses steps and weights. Strength is accomplished through intense plyometric moves working off step bench. Aerobic capacity is enhanced by working at a concentrated and fast pace with the use of the step bench.

PBS
Power-Balance-Strength is a unique blend of cardio work and core training . It is a definite push and a strong level of fitness is required to participate.

Fierce 4
The best in an interval work out. You will do a variety of floor aerobics (low or high), aerobic foot drills, ball fit (using the fit ball) and kickboxing. Plus, strength workouts incorporating the upper and lower body using free weights, balls and bands.

Pilates
Pilates is an exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates. This mat class incorporates a group of exercises that focus on breathing, posture, balance and strength. Core strengthening is the key component.

Step
A solid step class with 45 minutes of step, 10 minutes of abdominal work, finishing with stretching. The 8:30 a.m. class on Wednesdays is considered advanced. Saturday's 9 a.m. class is intermediate. You are welcome to come in and give any of the Step classes a try. Just remember to work at your own pace.

TRX
A suspension workout system that leverages gravity and your body weight to perform hundreds of exercises. You're in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise, because you can simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance. Benefits include:
Delivers a fast, effective total-body workout
Helps build a rock-solid core
Increases muscular endurance
Appropriate for all fitness levels (pro athletes to seniors)

Zumba Toning
A blend of body sculpting techniques and specific Zumba moves designed with the use of the "maraca-like" toning sticks.

Cardio Motion & Muscle
This class offers creative choreographed cardio moves with controlled impact. Weight work is included to help develop arm, leg, and core
strength.

Aquatic Class Descriptions

The Lap Pool will close for regular fall maintenance at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21 and will reopen at noon on Saturday, September 27.

Aqua Zumba has finished for the season. We look forward to seeing you back next year!

Fit for Life
Held in the hot pool, this water class puts its emphasis on strength, balance, stretching, and relaxation. This class is suited to those who would like a gentle but challenging workout, or for those going through rehabilitation from injury. This exercise class is especially suited to the senior population.

H20 Deep
Class focus is on core development, flexibility, and strength. Will be held in the hot pool or lap pool deep end, dependent on weather. Increased focus will be placed on aerobic activity if held in the lap pool.

Masters Swim
Practices are coached from the deck and include a variety of sets to improve strokes, endurance, and sprints. Swimmers are encouraged to swim within their own comfort range and are assigned to lanes according to ability. All levels are welcome. Distances range from 2,000-3,000 yards and include all strokes.

Back to the Pool
Improve your swimming efficiency. Learn and refine strokes with extra individual attention.
