Class Descriptions
Yoga:
Yoga classes are a combination of Hatha and Iyengar Yoga. Both are a gentle and nurturing practice of yoga which encourages you to listen to your body and go at your own pace. The classes focus on breathing, strengthening and relaxation.
Spin:
It is the ultimate indoor cycling program...not for bikers only. Come in and experience the best in a mind-body workout. The class is geared to all fitness levels. Offered November through May.
Zumba:
A latin influenced dance/fitness class. Every fitness level can join this class. Dance background is not required - everyone can shake and move.
Strength & Stretch:
This is a full body strengthening and stretch workout. You will have the option of using hand weights, bands, benches and balls. A full hour class is offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Afternoon classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4:15 p.m. The Monday/Wednesday class is a 45-minute class. The Friday afternoon class is a full hour.
Core Express:
Half hour abdominal class focusing on the core of the body from the shoulders to the hip area (lower back included) to give you a balanced mid-section workout.
H2O Aerobics:
Please check our schedule to see when these classes are held. All pools are outdoors and the classes will vary, depending on the season. We offer deep water workouts as well as strength and stretching in the pools. It is not necessary to be a swimmer to take these classes.
Black Diamond Fitness:
Get ready for a push. Class uses steps and weights. Strength is accomplished through intense plyometric moves working off step bench. Aerobic capacity is enhanced by working at a concentrated and fast pace with the use of the step bench.
PBS:
Power-Balance-Strength is a unique blend of cardio work and core training . It is a definite push and a strong level of fitness is required to participate.
Total Fitness:
The best in an interval work out. You will do a variety of floor aerobics (low or high), aerobic foot drills, ball fit (using the fit ball) and kickboxing. Plus, strength workouts incorporating the upper and lower body using free weights, balls and bands.
Pilates:
Pilates is an exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates. This mat class incorporates a group of exercises that focus on breathing, posture, balance and strength. Core strengthening is the key component.
Step: A solid step class with 45 minutes of step, 10 minutes of abdominal work, finishing with stretching. The 8:30 a.m. classes on Monday/Wednesdays/Fridays are considered advanced. The 12:15 class on Mondays is an intermediate class. You are welcome to come in and give any of the Step classes a try. Just remember to work at your own pace.
Bosu:
A half-dome ball used to challenge your balance and your muscles. Weight workout is done on the Bosu along with aerobic moves. It is considered an advanced workout. You are welcome to come in and work at your own pace.
20/20/20:
Get a full workout with 20 minutes of floor aerobics, 20 minutes of SStep and 20 minutes of weights.
Pricing
Zumba Toning:
A blend of body sculpting techniques and specific Zumba moves designed with the use of the "maraca-like" toning sticks.
Jazzercise:
A 60 minute, routine based group fitness class combining cardio, strength and stretch moves for a total body workout. Moves come from Hip-Hop, Yoga, Pilates, Jazz dance and Kickboxing.
